A host of stars including Louise Thompson and Michelle Keegan have urged their followers to donate to relief efforts in Turkey and Syria after a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake

Following the tragic news of a devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria earlier this week, countless famous faces have taken social media to share their condolences with the grieving families that have lost countless loved ones and homes in the harrowing disaster.

“Unbearable scenes following the earthquake in Turkey. Look how incredible this rescue team are…” she wrote, while also urging her followers to donate to rescue efforts being led by the Choose Love campaign. Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu also took to social media to thanks fans for their support so far.

Speaking on Sky News earlier in the week, Ekin-Su opened up about the situation as she said: "I have members of my family who have obviously experienced the shake, they've been outside, they've been sleeping outside.” Opening up about her personal connection to Turkey, the star told her 434,000 Twitter followers :“Woke at 3am, must admit I lay there thinking about the horror of a night in the freezing cold, having lost family and friends.”Eastenders icon Danny Dyer was another star also keen to raise awareness of the terrifying situation, in Turkey and Syria, as he joined his close pal Tamer Hassan and Love Island star daughter Belle, to try and raise £100,000 to help with the humanitarian crisis.

There was even support from further afield too, as Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra-Jonas also shared her heartache at the situation as she uploaded an Instagram story which read: “Devastating” alongside a broken heart emoji.
