Geely-owned company now targets 12,000 sales this year, down on its previous goal of 55,000

Lotus has drastically lowered its sales targets after being hit by additional tariffs in key markets for its China-built electric models. The Geely-owned company now says it will sell 12,000 cars globally this year, against its previous target of 55,500. For next year, the revised target is 30,000 down from its prediction of 76,000.

Lotus will “relaunch or reposition our product in Europe” toward the end of the year in response to the tariffs, Feng said “Specifically in Europe, we are thinking about launching different variants,” he said without clarifying. Lotus has been looking to bolster its average selling price with special editions such as the Chinese market Emeya Blossom Enchantment with 42 natural sapphires. The car showcases some of the company’s Chapman Bespoke extras.
