Restaurant launching its venture to showcase young chefs
The Cats, which relaunched under new ownership this summer, will start hosting special culinary events. The recently renovated and rebooted The Cats — the legendary Los Gatos roadhouse — is amping up its special events and entertainment offerings.
From noon to 4 p.m. this Sunday, Oct. 8, a Maui fundraiser will feature 12 live music acts plus the restaurant’s. Ten percent of The Cats’ sales that afternoon will be donated to the American Red Cross for its Maui Wildfire Relief efforts. On Oct. 22, chef Christian Saiz of the Mestizo Paella catering company will present a four-course Spanish feast. Tickets for the dinner, $60, which features a choice of traditional, veggie or meat lover’s paella, plus jamon croquettes, salad and dessert, must be purchased in advance at“ChefCentury helps chefs like Christian Saiz focus on what he does best, and we do the rest,” Tam said in announcing the culinary series.
