Randall Barr, who spent more than three decades with the Troy Police Department, the last decade as its chief, announced Thursday his plans to retire.

Barr called his nearly 36 years in law enforcement an honor and said “there has never been a day when I did not want to put on my uniform and go to work.”, Barr looked back on his time leading the department as “the highlight of my career,” and that he’s “been given opportunities that I have never dreamed for myself.”
