Loki is uniquely positioned as one of the most exciting players in the Multiverse Saga who was also vital in the Infinity Saga.
The irony isn't lost on the idea that the MCU's first collective villain is now poised to be its biggest hero. Granted that this version of the character is different from the Sacred Timeline's iteration who died at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, but their shared history makes this variant an effective substitute.
Loki Finally Has His Own Superhero Team In Season 2 For the most part of his life, Loki has been a loner. He ended up teaming with Thor and their other Asgardian allies as seen in the Revengers in Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok, but those connections were fleeting. In Loki season 2, however, he finally gets his own team, and he spearheads the effort to assemble them in order to bring the Time Variance Authority back.
The Loki show deals heavily with the idea of the multiverse, but it has never shown what it's like on the ground until episode 5. The outing reveals what they were doing before they were roped into the TVA, and the majority of them were living sad and miserable lives. OB was a failed science-fiction book author, Casey was a prisoner, Mobius was a struggling father, and Sylvie was stuck in mediocrity.
