Pittsford, N.Y. (WHAM) Local advocates for domestic violence victims said they're heartbroken over the deaths of a man and woman at a home in Pittsford Tuesday.

Leaders at the center are speaking out after a man and woman were found dead in a possible murder-suicide at a Pittsford home that could be connected to a case of domestic violence. Tuesday evening.
"The effects of this ripple out into the community, it just ricochets through everyone and everything," said de Chateauvieux. "It affects so many people, and we're all feeling the pain of it this morning."receives approximately 12,000 calls a year — upwards of 40 calls a day. Willow reports more than 2,000 people requested legal counsel for an order of protection.
"I think that the intensity of the abuse is more significant than we've seen in a long time," said de Chateauvieux. "So, this is definitely an issue that is on the rise in severity.", said fear is the biggest reason many don't report their cases of domestic abuse. She also says the abuse can come in many forms.
Walker-Smith said people need to know where to find help in situations of domestic abuse so tragedies like this one don't happen again.
