Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger said two people are dead, including an apparent shooter, after former president Donald Trump was rushed off the stage at a campaign rally in Butler, Pa. Trump is now safe, according to the Secret Service.
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. — President Biden on Saturday night denounced political violence and said former president Donald Trump is “doing well.” “Look, there’s no place for this kind of violence in America. It’s sick. It’s sick. It’s one of the reasons why we have to unite this country,” Biden said from the Rehoboth Beach police department. “We cannot be like this.” Biden said he did not have all the details on others in the audience who might have been injured.
When asked if he believed the shooting was an assassination attempt, Biden said: “I have an opinion, but I don’t have all the facts.” Biden, during brief remarks regarding the incident involving Trump, referred to his political rival by his first name. “I have tried to get a hold of Donald. He’s with his doctors. Apparently, he’s doing well. I plan on talking to him shortly, I hope, when I get back to the telephone,” said Biden, who is spending the weekend at his Delaware beach house.
