The sheriff had said Trump’s surrender at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta would be like any other — with a mug shot.
Before leaving the airport, Trump told reporters that he had done nothing wrong and has “every single right to challenge an election.”
Fulton County District Attorney Fani T. Willis filed a motion Thursday suggesting an Oct. 23 trial date for Trump and his co-defendants. Before Trump’s surrender, Steven Sadow, a prominent Atlanta criminal defense attorney, filed notice in court that he is now representing Trump as his lead counsel, in an apparent shake-up of Trump’s legal team.— all while leading the Republican field in the 2024 presidential nomination race. He has denied wrongdoing in each case.
