The Anger in Ernest & Ernestine brings big set pieces and even bigger laughs to The Refinery in Saskatoon this October.

“It is camp, and it is over-the-top,” Dickson said. “Part of the fun of it is actually how over-the-top Ernest and Ernestine can be about their problems. They often take the most difficult road forward, instead of doing any sort of communication. … I’ve always found it an extremely interesting script, and I’ve been itching to work on it for years.”
“There are a lot of physical gags and physical comedy involved, which allows Ernest and Ernestine to be honest with the audience,” they said. “That’s a cornerstone of clowning. Ernest and Ernestine often break away to be honest with the audience but not with each other, which just highlights the problems that they’re having.”
“Nothing on stage is safe to not be thrown around or moved or tossed between characters,” said assistant director Adam Tweidt. “Everything is there for a reason, and it’s for the audience and the actors to have fun with.”
