The charity fully pays for parents to stay for free near the children’s and women’s hospital while their child seeks medical treatment.
For the first time in five years, the Little Black Dress event was back on with a runway show of models styled by Dillard’s. It was held at Fort Whiting, and guests heard from a people directly impacted by tonight’s generosity.
“It’s a celebration for us,” said Diana Brewbaker, organizer. “It’s a celebration for the families who stay at the Ronald McDonald House. They are the true heroes of this story, so we celebrate them and raise money to support them.” It’s their biggest event of the year, and all of it benefits local families. Right now, 38 families are staying there.“Just to have that peace of mind there was so wonderful,” said Hadley. “If something happened, we could be there in a second.”“I stopped working when my children were born,” said Hadley. “So yeah, that financial burden, all the people who donate to the house so we can have meals and snacks to nibble on, is such a relief.
