The 'Old Town Road' singer said he hoped his coming out inspired change in both the Country and Hip Hop communities.
Nas told the BBC that he hoped he his coming out as gay"opened doors" for others and that"they feel more comfortable."
"Especially within the Country and the Hip Hop communities, which both songs combine, it's not really accepted in either," he said. He added that he has already been dealing with anti-gay backlash from some online, but that he has a healthy approach to dealing with haters. "Learning the internet over the past couple of years, I used to be that person being negative," he said."So, it's like, I'm not angry or anything because I understand how they just want that reaction."Indeed, Nas has been deploying memes and jokes on Twitter to mock anyone who has an issue with his sexuality.
