Readers observed the presidential debate with dismay; recounted a pay snafu; thanked Kinky Friedman; dinged a jet-maker; offered a school solution; and sympathized with Uvalde cops.
I was told early voting was a different system, and I had to fill out a new application. It was too late to do it that day and to come back the next morning. The next morning, I filled out seven or eight forms, all asking for about the same information in different formats. The forms were reviewed while I waited and corrected to the requirements. I was told to expect to be paid in about three weeks, which should be next week.
One summer, my son came off the home-bound bus with a lovely white cast on his arm! Who personally took care of him? Kinky Friedman.There is a fair, commonsense solution to the issue of private school vouchers vs. public school funding. Our state government could issue a voucher for the currently proposed amount to every student enrolled in an accredited Texas school.
