Readers like Proposition 5 that supports the Texas University Fund; encourage Kay Bailey Hutchison to run for president; dispute the causes of the UAW strike; and would like the state fair to ban guns.
As a Texas Tech alumna and proud supporter of UNT, I was pleased to support the legislation that would create the TUF. Now, we just need the voters to give the greenlight! Direct, no-nonsense approach.
Wrong answer! The strike, in my opinion, is a result of corporate greed, nothing more, nothing less. The United Auto Worker members gave concessions to the automakers to save them from bankruptcy and the government gave them billions to save their companies. UAW members want their concessions back.
