With so much to divide us politically in recent years and at the same time so much to unite us as a nation in recent weeks in our stance against Vladimir Putin’s Ukrainian aggression, I have put my political leanings a bit on the back burner. But this letter is a warning to me and to all of us not to give in to that inclination.

Conservatives ignore the economic concept that analysis should be performed at the margins. They use averaging, which does not return a reliable picture especially when social factors like quality of life and livability standards are considered.
