Re: “Occupational therapy helps with mental health — Congress should alleviate mental health crisis by giving patients access to profession’s services,” by Sue Ram, Dec. 29 Opinion.
When OT practitioners are part of the mental health team, other professionals often remark that they contribute to a truer picture of the client’s abilities and situation, which assists with more effective treatment and discharge planning. My father fought in Vietnam in 1966-1967 as part of the 101st Airborne Division. I recall him telling me that the “Rules of Engagement” for the Vietnam War were like “fighting with one arm tied behind your back.”
Russia is using its long-term missile advantage to destroy Ukraine. while Ukraine has no legitimate weapons to halt the attacks. The time is now for the U.S. to supply Ukraine with all means necessary to not only repel the Russians, but defeat them.
