There are plenty of solutions to solving this quagmire, provided the pension, city and Legislature meet on common ground as honest brokers.
The reason for Johnson’s inability to quantify this is quite simple — the problem doesn’t exist. As the Cato Institute explains, “Noncitizens don’t illegally vote in detectable numbers.” The dancers of Dallas Black Dance Theatre who were fired for what I believe was their effort to form a union may have missed the flurry of workers exercising their power in 2023. But that was only the opening scene.Art is the intersection of now and then: The collision of culture, history, imagination, love, joy, hate, greed and the brand new waiting to be discovered. Art is democracy. Art is resistance. Art is the human condition.
