A reader says Texas Gov. Greg Abbott should be focused on expanding Medicaid, not playing politics on the border.The State of the Union is a summation of how the nation is doing.
This is after the $4.3 billion allocated in the previous budget cycle. That’s more than $8 billion in spending. This in a state that has more children without reasonable access to health care than any other state in the country. Texas could provide expanded Medicaid to hundreds of thousands of its children for many fewer taxpayer dollars than $8 billion.
Many of us who live along the South Texas border believe the wall is a huge waste of money. Lawmakers should be ashamed of supporting Abbott’s political ambitions in preference to their responsibilities to poor children.Electric cars should have multiple portable battery packs secured into their base.
