A gesture-based control system could give Google's Android an edge over Apple's iOS:
The gesture-based control system could give Google's Android an edge over Apple's iOS, but perhaps more importantly it could give Google a second mechanism — beyond voice — to unify commands across mobile, the home, and the car.
Already, these gesture-based controls enable devices to display notifications based on a hand wave, and controls like a gesture to trigger Google Assistant could eventually come thanks to this specialized hardware.
It would also enable the user to give commands without the hiccup of a wake word for the voice assistant, and allow them to be gradual — rotating one's hand to change the volume of a speaker, with the volume adjusting up or down until the motion stops, for example.

I guess it has been a long time.” Sources confirmed Brundage later sat motionless for 40 minutes while staring at the house his high school girlfriend’s family moved out of eight years ago.
