Republican Representative Lauren Boebert asked to see Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle's phone following the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump.On Monday, Cheatle appeared before the House Oversight Committee to testify about the shooting at Trump's campaign rally in Pennsylvania on July 13.
Cheatle was grilled during the hearing on Monday and faced demands for her to resign as Secret Service head after the assassination attempt. Representative Ro Khanna, a Democrat from California, became the second member of his party to call for Cheatle to resign.'I just don't think this is partisan. If you have an assassination attempt on a president, a former president, or a candidate, you need to resign,' Khanna said to Cheatle during the hearing.
