President Biden slipped in a quip about both his age and his memory Monday during a speech at a Washington conference for the National Association of Counties. “And I’ve been around — I know it don’t look like it, but I’ve been around a while,” Biden said at one point to the room full of county executives, to laughter. Biden paused, before adding with a knowing smile, “I do remember that.” The crowd laughed louder and applauded.
Speaking to county executives, Biden highlighted the investments made in local communities as a result of his $1.9 trillion “American Rescue Plan” as well as his $1.2 trillion infrastructure plan. “Look at the progress we’ve made together,” Biden said.
