As the drought kills grass throughout Texas, it may prove beneficial for wildflowers as soil space opened up for bluebonnets and other spring-blooming annuals.The most common bluebonnet, Lupinus texensis, or the Texas bluebonnet, typically spreads across Central Texas, peaking in early April, but could be arriving earlier this year, the Wildflower Center wrote in a news release. That's due to the warmer-than-usual temperatures in January and February.
