L.A. County’s biggest transit agency tries to tackle homelessness on its trains, buses and depots with ‘action plan.’
A person experiencing homelessness rides the A line LA Metro train Monday, July 24, 2023. The LA Metro Board of Directors passed a homeless action plan to address the problem of the unhoused who ride the trains, buses and sleep in stations and depots on Oct. 26, 2023.
She wants LA Metro to do the same, but through coordination with cities, nonprofit agencies and county services. “The plan should include a data snapshot of homelessness on our system, and that includes being part of the point-in-time count from LAHSA,” Bass said.
