Knicks not planning to send Quentin Grimes to G-League

The Knicks appear to be against sending Quentin Grimes to the G-League to get in some reps.

“For the most part, just getting that game reps as much as I can,” Grimes said. “Trying to get back there. It’s really just hard to simulate game speed. That’s the biggest thing.

Grimes is getting in extra work when he can. He was fine with Thibodeau’s decision Tuesday to cut him out of the rotation. He’s focused on doing his part to stay ready when his time comes. Despite Thibodeau praising Obi Toppin’s play of late, it doesn’t sound like the forward is going to get a minutes bump. Right now, he is logging 17.8 minutes per game and shooting 42.4 percent from 3-point range.
