A Kingwood 11-year-old and his mother got the experience of a lifetime last month when he was selected as the winner of the Texans' Letters to Santa event.

“We got there early, and I let him do all the stuff. We signed him up for the TORO Kids Club, went down and watched them practice and even got to play catch with JJ that day. They were able to take photos with the famed mascot and then he walked them through the tunnel at the bottom of NRG Stadium and onto the field.
“After a challenging year, Becky has not been able to provide as many gifts as usual, and the holidays are especially tough for Brian because he has two younger siblings in the Austin area,” Holmes said.Hunt, a special education teacher at Park Lakes Elementary School, took note of Brian whose foster parents lived in the school’s attendance zone.
“I had been considering the adoption foster world for quite a while, it just never seemed like the right time. It was definitely a God thing that this all fell into place,” she said.
