The Wiregrass Kings’ Riley Treadaway and Lakeside School’s Chloe Helms took the top spots in the boys and girls 5K cross country races Tuesday at the Southern Prep Ranger Invitational

Treadaway won the boys race in 17 minutes and 27.77, nearly a full two minutes ahead of runner-up Matthew Meadows of Ezekiel Academy.

While Helms won the girls race, the Wiregrass Kings, behind three top 10 finishes, won the girls team title with 35 points to Lakeside’s 45. Ezekiel Academy was a close third. People are also reading… Finishing behind Treadaway for the Wiregrass Kings boys team were Ethan Hodges and Jonathan Treadaway in sixth and ninth place, respectively, at the race. Barrett Jones , Michael Rich , Judah Lokey and Elijah Hodges were the next highest Kings placers.

Following Chloe Helms for the Lakeside girls was Addy Helms in an 8th-place time of 26:40.71 and Anna Peak with a 12th-place effort of 28:26.71. Lee Ann Judah was next.In the boys two-mile run, the Kings’ Joshua Treadaway finished in 10th place and Judson Perry in 16th place. Hannah Williams led the Kings in the girls two-mile run.
