James Earl Jones died on Monday. He was 93.
Jones, who is known for voicing Darth Vader in the "Star Wars" franchise and Mufasa in the 1994 and 2019 "" films, died on Monday morning at his home in Dutchess County, New York, surrounded by his family, his rep confirmed to ABC News.Actor James Earl Jones accepts the Life Achievement award during the 15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Jan. 25, 2009 in Los Angeles.
In addition to "Star Wars" and "The Lion King," Jones, who received an honorary Oscar in 2012, left his mark in film and television and played many iconic roles in his career, including Terrence Mann in the 1989 film, "Field of Dreams," which he starred in with Kevin Costner, Ray Liotta and Gaby Hoffman. He also portrayed King Jaffe Joffer in "Coming to America" and "Coming 2 America" alongside Eddie Murphy and more.
