The poignant final lines of the legendary voice actor Kevin Conroy as Batman in Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3 have been revealed.

Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3 features Kevin Conroy’s last Batman performancewhich is almost identical to the DCAU created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm. Appearing alongside Mark Hamill’s The Joker, Conroy’s Batman declares, “I care, Joker… about Gotham… about justice. And if it has to end… at least I go out like this… being Batman.”

The scene takes place on the rooftop of a building in Earth-12’s Gotham. As an anti-matter wave engulfs the universe, The Joker tries to sneak up on Batman, but the Caped Crusader throws him off. The Joker then laughs and remarks that he is “flattered.” He says, “The end of the world and you want to spend it with me. I didn’t know you cared.” This prompts the above-mentioned comment from Batman.

Conroy passed away in a hospital on November 10, 2022, due to complications related to intestinal cancer. He was 66 years old at the time. Notably, Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3 also marks Hamill’s final outing as Joker. Conroy and the Star Wars actor have voiced their respective characters together since Batman: The Animated Series. After Conroy’s death, Hamill announced he would no longer voice the Clown Prince of Crime.

“We were like partners. We were like Laurel and Hardy. Without Kevin there, there doesn’t seem to be a Batman for me,” Hamill said.
