It’s a question these teens can’t shake, especially as they confront a reality where progress often triggers backlash. Despite those fears, the teens were energized by Harris’ willingness to challenge the belief that the presidency is exclusively a man’s role. A Harris administration could reshape national policy around women’s issues by bringing a firsthand understanding of the challenges women face, they said.
Z-aire shared similar fears about her community in Sandusky. Gun and gang violence have deeply affected her family, with her brother imprisoned for his involvement in a shooting and her uncle serving time for murder.
