After Princess Kate shared she’s making good progress with her cancer treatment, she made her first public appearance since announcing the diagnosis by stepping out for Trooping the Colour. NBC’s Kelly Cobiella reports for TODAY and special royal correspondent Katie Nicholl joins with more.
Catherine, Princess of Wales, made her second public appearance on July 14 at Wimbledon, nearly one month after making her first public appearance at Trooping the Colour. The former Kate Middleton attended the Wimbledon men’s singles final on Sunday, where Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic faced off in the final for the second year in a row. In 2023, Alcaraz beat Djokovic for the Grand Slam title in a five-set win.
This marked her second official public appearance since she announced her cancer diagnosis in March. On June 15, Kate attended the annual Trooping the Colour event to celebrate King Charles III’s birthday, where she joined her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, in a carriage to watch the parade. Kate later joined William along with Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla, on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
