Kash Patel , Donald Trump 's pick for FBI director, has joined social media platform X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday—racking up hundreds of thousands of followers in less than a day from when he was nominated by the president-elect.'Kash is a brilliant lawyer, investigator, and 'America First' fighter who has spent his career exposing corruption, defending Justice, and protecting the American People,' Trump wrote in his announcement on Truth Social on Saturday evening.
Patel will replace Trump's FBI director from his first administration, Christopher Wray, if confirmed by the U.S. Senate. Trump also fired FBI Director James Comey months after taking office in 2017 even though directors of the agency usually serve 10-year terms after confirmation. However, directors are able to resign or be dismissed by incoming presidents.
