The market for Michael Jordan memorabilia is still pretty lucrative.
Karl Malone made a cool $3.03 million on Thursday off just one signed Dream Team jersey, which was inscribed to Malone — the majority of the $5 million haul Malone took home from an auction that also included a pair of Air Jordans as well as Magic Johnson and Larry Bird memorabilia.That was Jordan’s second and last Olympic medal after being on Team USA in 1984 as well.
The 1992 team, however, is the one that went down in history for being the first to include NBA players and featuring 11 future Hall of Famers, including Jordan and Malone. Given Jordan’s resurgence in pop culture, with “The Last Dance” documentary coming out three years ago and the recently-released “Air” — a movie that is literally about the start of the Air Jordan shoes — it’s no surprise that the market for memorabilia is robust.Michael Jordan and Karl Malone
