Kaiju No. 8 's anime adaptation is one of the biggest new anime arrivals in 2024. Focusing on a world that is besieged by kaiju attacks, the series is led by an unlikely protagonist in Kafka , a man in his early thirties who wants nothing more than to join the premiere organization for fighting kaiju.
To start the interview with the outlet Bunshun, Matsumoto detailed how Hibino Kafka is a reflection of himself,"There is a large part where I projected myself into the story. At the time, I couldn't make a living from my manga either, so I was earning a living in a place that was close to my dream but far away.
