A juvenile accused of making threats against a Bedford junior high school is in police custody, police said Thursday.

Bedford police said officers were notified Wednesday night of a social media post that had a potential threat against Harwood Junior High School and the officers quickly identified the juvenile and placed them in custody. Officers confirmed there is no credible threat toward the school and an investigation is ongoing, police said. Because the investigation involves minors, police said they could not share the full details.

Police said additional officers are at the school Thursday out of caution and to reassure students and families. Police said safety at Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District remains a priority. Parents who have questions or concerns that their student is distressed may contact the Harwood Junior High School office at 817-399-3570.. Aria writes about breaking news.
