He now comes to Minnesota with the possibility of becoming not only Sam Darnold's backup for the rest of this season, but the Vikings' backup moving forward as 1st-round draft pick JJ McCarthy prepares to take over as the VIkings' starter next season. "I've spent some time with him in the past. Great guy. He’s played a lot of football, so just to be able to draw from his experience in certain things is going to help this football team," he said.
