Edelman, a former Super Bowl MVP who won three championships with the Patriots, then ripped off his Red Sox cap and furiously tossed it nearby. With the game tied at 24-24 in the fourth quarter and only three seconds remaining, Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson tossed a lateral pass to Meyers, who then attempted a second lateral throw to quarterback Mac Jones — but it was picked off by Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones for a game-winning touchdown.
Meyers expressed remorse over the turnover in the 30-24 loss, which might’ve cost the Patriots a playoff spot.“I didn’t see the dude back there, trying to throw the ball.
