“I messed up. … They caught me red-handed,” he told reporters as Mobile police led him to Mobile County Metro Jail. “Nothing that has happened to you excuses what you did to this lady and others. … This isn’t over for her,” the judge said. “To the extent that you feel bad, you should feel bad.” Peterson committed during the last week of June in 2023. He admitted to demanding money from a teller at the Trustmark Bank on Dauphin Street. Within hours, police arrested him at the Foosackly’s on Moffett Road in Semmes. He told reporters at the time that he wanted a salad.Defense attorney Josh Briskman outlined his client’s background. Peterson did not finish middle school and never attained a GED.
