The one-time Giants quarterback is officially hanging up his cleats and picking up a mic.

Captioning a post on Instagram, “Thank you football!” McCoy — who starred at the University of Texas before being selected 85th overall by the Browns in 2010 — NFL quarterback Colt McCoy, who had a one-season stint with the Giants, announced his retirement on Aug. 19, 2024, after 14 years.

He signed a two-year contract extension with the Cardinals in 2022 but was released in August 2023 and did not play last season.In 56 career games, McCoy threw for 7,975 yards, 34 touchdowns and 32 interceptions, completing 62.6 percent of his passes. “College Football has always held a special place in my heart. With the expansion of the Big Ten and new era of College Football, it is the perfect time to join NBC Sports,” McCoy said in a statement.
