The Jordan School District is about to join a number of districts that have implemented a cell phone policy that involves restricting phone use.
Elementary students won't be able to use phone during the day, while secondary students will be restricted to using them only during passing periods and lunch.
Cell phones can do just about anything these days, making them a helpful tool in all aspects of life — but they can also be a distraction. In order to get that number up, the school board voted on the new cell phone policy, which goes into effect in the latter half of October.Should phones be allowed in school? This is why board member Darrell Robinson wants the next steps to be about educating kids on how to be less dependent on their phones.
