Rep. Mike Johnson said that House Republicans are"committed" to bringing all 12 appropriations bills to the floor.
In an appearance on Fox News Sunday with Shannon Bream, Johnson elaborated on his plan to avoid a government shutdown, saying that he has worked through the weekend on a stopgap measure to give the lower chamber more time to pass all of the appropriation bills before the Nov. 17 deadline, when the continuing resolution passed by former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is set to expire.
He continued,"But again, we're changing the way Washington works because we believe in these to be more accountable and more transparent for the people, and so we're going to fight that fight every single day. And we'll get that job done." The Biden administration is attempting to link funding for Israel and Ukraine, among other things, while most Republicans want to separate the funding into individual bills.
