Katie Gaudreau, the sister of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, has set a new wedding date after her late brothers died the day before her original one
Katie Gaudreau has set a new wedding date after her brothers, Johnny and Matthew, died hours before her the date of her original ceremony.
The couple was originally scheduled to get married on August 30, 2024, but plans were tragically derailed after Johnny, a star forward for the Columbus Blue Jackets, and Matthew were struck and killed by a drunk driver while riding their bicycles in Oldmans Township, New Jersey the night before the ceremony. Both brothers were scheduled to be groomsmen in the wedding.
Shortly after her brothers’ deaths, Katie reflected on finding out about the news as she was making final preparations to walk down the aisle. Katie added, “Remember to tell your people you love them. I would do anything to tell my big brothers I love them one more time.”“Forever with me now. J & M,” Katie wrote via Instagram Story on September 7, sharing a photo of the band with Johnny and Matthew’s initials.
