Aggies offensive line was out of sync in opener against Sam Houston

Devon Achane, scoring on this play against Sam Houston, didn't have the space to break the long runs Texas A&M had hoped for.COLLEGE STATION — Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher compared the post-snap synchronization of an offensive line to a dance troupe.

“We’re going to have to run the football — that’s what we do,” Fisher said. “We’re going to run the football and we’ve got to get synchronized and get things together.” The Bearkats, however, looked more like the 1985 Chicago Bears in limiting Achane to 2.3 yards per carry . Fisher said Achane, who wears No. 6, can still work his magic in the open field — he just needs open field.

A&M finished with 110 yards on the ground on 32 carries against Sam Houston, an average of 3.4 yards per carry. Quarterback Haynes King accounted for 35 rushing yards on six carries, second only to Achane as the Aggies failed throughout the four quarters to get anything going on the ground.
