The product line—including hospital gowns, adult diapers and bed pans—was never glamorous. Even so, Jim Mills, as co-founder and CEO, kept Medline Industries Inc. growing at an average of more than 10% a year for three decades, while retaining family control of a business that expects sales of about $13 billion this year.
