WR Garrett Wilson let a ball bounce off his chest for Rodgers’ second interception. WR Davante Adams did not have much of an effect in his first game.The Steelers rolled up 409 total yards, including 227 in the second half. The Jets created no takeaways, and the defense seemed to wear down as the game went on and injuries piled up in the secondary.
QB Russell Wilson started slow but found a rhythm, hitting a number of downfield passes on the Jets. WR George Pickens killed the Jets repeatedly.Greg Zuerlein had a field goal blocked in the third quarter that could have given the Jets some momentum. Kick returner Xavier Gipson fumbled two returns out of bounds.Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said the Jets did not handle adversity well, and Rodgers said the team lacked energy. Those are both damning for the new head coach.
