Jersey Shore pop-up beach parties canceled after officials warn organizers

The Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office issued a warning Friday that a party being organized on social media for an undisclosed beach in the Wildwoods was illegal and that police would shut it down. Posts promoting the events have vanished from Instagram account “ratedrparties” and a new post on one of the accounts hyping the Wildwood the party, “jerseysviralparties,” appeared to confirm the event was off.

Another event promoted by the “ratedrparties” page for Seaside Heights on May 5 and 6 is also canceled. In a Monday post, the operator of that account acknowledged getting letters from the town.
