When longtime TODAY viewer Pat Garner, 86, visited Studio 1A with her daughter Jennifer Garner, she certainly got the royal treatment. 'It's Pat Day!' Jennifer says when the pair sat down with TODAY.com backstage. As the Garner women chat about cooking, kids and college, Jennifer keeps her arm planted firmly around her mom’s shoulders in a gesture that seems both protective and proud.
' 'But until then, every opening night I called you in a panic, didn't I? I can still picture the payphone in the theater. I cried and cried into that payphone, 'I can't do it!'' Jennifer recalls. 'The best meal in the world' Jennifer described Pat as a 'cozy' grandmother during their interview with Hoda Kotb and Shenielle Jones. 'I have the seven most wonderful grandchildren in the world,' Pat said unabashedly.
