Leno, the former host of “The Tonight Show,” is known for his love of cars. He was working on a car Sunday in his garage in Los Angeles when flames shot out of the vehicle’s exhaust and burned his face, Leno’s reps confirmed to FOX Television Stations.“I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am ok. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet.”
Leno, 72, was hospitalized and was taken to the Grossman Burn Center for his injuries. He was supposed to take the, but had to cancel. People Magazine was the first to report that Leno had a “serious medical emergency.” “His family was not able to provide us very many details, but there was a very serious medical emergency that is preventing Jay from traveling,” an email sent to attendees stated. “All we know is that he is alive, so our prayers go out to him and his family tonight.”
