Custom image of Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw in the Fast & Furious franchise

Fast & Furious has been a lucrative franchise for Jason Statham, and his underrated $760 million hit deserves a sequel after its new-found streaming success on Netflix. Having made his first appearance in Fast & Furious 6, Statham was introduced as a major antagonist, with Deckard Shaw becoming the main villain in the series' highest-grossing movie, Furious 7.

While the movie still included some car-orientated action, Hobbs & Shaw wasn't overly dependable on high-speed chases and broke the traditional Fast & Furious formula without feeling too detached from the franchise. This gave Deckard Shaw and Luke Hobbs the chance to shine, with The Rock and Statham having great chemistry that made for some hilarious back-and-forths.

Given the first movie was undoubtedly a hit for the franchise, it only seems right that Hobbs & Shaw 2 is given a chance to follow up on its impressive debut.
