with wife Kylie — admitted he had doubts that Simone Biles could live up to her GOAT status at this year’s competition.that he was unsure how Biles, 27, would perform at the games as she is older than most of the other gymnasts competing.“They usually don’t age and sustain well later on,” the NFL retiree said of the 27-year-old gymnast on Wednesday’s episode of the “New Heights” podcast.
“We watched like every girl go and do the floor routine and Simone Biles was the last person and I’m like, you know she’s getting older. She’s a little bit… we’ll see how she looks,” the former Philadelphia Eagles center, 36, told his brother. “She is the anomaly because she jumped higher than everybody and it wasn’t even close,” the retired NFL star said.“Like, you watch all these people do the floor routine, then it’s Simone’s at the end and within the first three seconds you’re like, ‘Oh, that’s different.'”Getty Images
