As the Cavs reached an important milestone on Sunday night, their big men showed a glimpse of what is (hopefully) to come in the postseason.
First it was Mobley, who with just under six minutes to play in the first half showed a certain relentlessness -- an example ofOn one possession, Mobley corralled not one, not two, but three offensive rebounds. All of the boards came off of missed 3s and the third one led to a thunderous, two-handed, put-back slam as the second-year forward finished through contact to give Cleveland a 48-39 lead.
“Another elevating moment for the team and for the group, and you watch the guys celebrate him on the sideline. So again, we have, and I say it a lot, but it is so much fun and it is so much awesome. It’s so awesome to be a part of these guys and watch how they collectively try to accomplish their goals.”
He may have ended the night with a 24-point, 14-rebound double-double, but it was a defensive-play that stood out above the rest.
