Cameron is one of the most commercially and critically successful filmmakers of all time, having written and directed The Terminator, Aliens, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Titanic, Avatar, and Avatar: The Way of Water.
Cameron's movies are certainly unlike any others that have been made, such as Titanic, which was the most expensive movie ever made at the time, or Avatar, which pioneered new motion capture technology. On the other hand, 2024 has been another mixed year for Netflix movies. This year, the streaming service has consistently produced original films – such as Trigger Warning, Atlas, A Family Affair, Damsel, and The Union – which were panned by critics, but nevertheless watched by subscribers.
